AMHERST VILLAGE DENTAL

Dental Services

Taking good care of your teeth and gums is an important part of life. A beautiful smile not only looks good, but it is also an indicator of your overall health. Studies have shown that systemic illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes, are directly linked to oral health complications like periodontal (gum) disease. At Amherst Village Dental, our goal is to help you maintain excellent oral health and improve your overall quality of life. Our services include preventive, restorative, cosmetic, and emergency dentistry. If you are in need of any professional dental treatment, you have come to the right place!

A large part of our practice involves Family Dentistry. We take great pride in treating every member of the family, from infants to grandparents! These treatments are often simple and straightforward, designed to prevent potential problems. A routine appointment typically consists of professional cleaning and check-up exam. We may also recommend an oral cancer screening for adults, and fluoride treatment for children. If we notice any instances of tooth decay or gum disease, you may need restorative treatment.

Invisalign is an alternative for patients who want the benefits of straighter teeth without having to worry about the aesthetics of metal braces. Invisalign aligners are clear oral appliances made of special plastic called SmartTrack, and the aligners are easy to wear and as effective as traditional braces when it comes to straightening teeth. Thanks to Invisalign, the flexibility of braces can be accomplished and provide our patients with a straightened, healthy smile.

Bioesthetic Dentistry was developed by Dr. Robert Lee, a world-renowned dentist and scientist. Instead of defining dental health in terms of diseases and disorders, Dr. Lee studied patients with healthy, well-functioning teeth, looking for universal principles that indicates optimum oral health. Bioesthetics is an innovative approach to dental care that defines optimum dental health in terms of the performance and viability of the entire chewing system — this includes the teeth, jaw joints, and supporting muscles.

Cosmetic dentistry has grown significantly over the past few decades thanks to advancements in technology and technique. Cutting-edge equipment allows us to improve the size, shape, color, and overall appearance of an unsightly tooth. The Cosmetic Services we provide include teeth whitening, porcelain crowns, dental sealants, and dental veneers & bonding. Teeth whitening treatment is one of the most common procedures we perform due to its effectiveness. We may recommend a porcelain crown for both restorative and cosmetic purposes. The same is true for dental veneers. Both restorations are fabricated using porcelain because of its unmatched aesthetic value.

Restorative dentistry is designed to fix any problems you may have with your teeth, gum tissues, jaw, and bone structure. We may recommend a dental filling to correct instances of minor or moderate decay. If the damage is substantial, you may need a dental crown. A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that improves the function and aesthetics of the tooth. If the tooth is beyond saving, Dr. Bernard Ang will perform a tooth extraction. Tooth loss is much more common then you may think. For this reason, we offer several replacement solutions, some of which include bridges, dental implants, and dentures.

A dental implant is a small titanium post that we surgically embed into the jawbone. The implant serves as the root component of a prosthetic tooth. Once the implant is in place, it will fuse to the bone during the process of osseointegration. Osseointegration allows the implant to support a restoration against the strongest forces of your bite. For this reason, Dental Implants are widely considered to be the next best thing to your natural teeth.

Teeth Tomorrow is a life-changing procedure that can provide a permanent solution to your major dental problems. Teeth Tomorrow® implant bridges are custom designed for your unique smile and will not chip, crack, stain, or attract plaque, odors, and bacteria. Your full-arch bridge is permanently anchored with multiple dental implants to provide you with a stable, natural-looking smile and bite that is virtually indistinguishable from healthy teeth and gums.

We understand that some people experience fear or anxiety when they think about a trip to the dentist. In some cases, these phobias can even prevent a person from receiving the dental care they need to maintain proper oral health. At Amherst Village Dental, we offer Sedation Dentistry to create a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for our patients.

A denture is a removable appliance that is usually used to replace one or more missing teeth. A partial denture usually attaches to the surrounding teeth with metal clasps. A complete denture consists of a flesh-colored acrylic base that supports a complete arch of prosthetic teeth. We offer custom-fit Dentures as a more comfortable, functional, and durable solution.
