Spring has finally sprung here in New Hampshire. With a long winter finally behind us, many of our patients are gearing up for warmer weather. Spring is the perfect time to enjoy more time out and about and less time cooped up indoors.
We love spring here at Amherst Village Dental, not only because of the weather change, but also because Manchester and Nashua seem to come alive during this season. There are always plenty of community events, festivals and fairs each weekend. This spring, take advantage of some of the awesome stuff happening around Southern New Hampshire.
Kid-Friendly Things To Do In Manchester
Spending Spring Break with your kids is always a treat. After the long winter, it’s always fun to get out and active in the warmer weather.
Our Promise to Nicholas 9th Annual Easter Egg Hunt Festival
Nothing says “spring” like Easter egg hunts with the kids. Waking up early to get outside into the sunshine, searching for treat-filled eggs left behind by the Easter Bunny is a staple of childhood. And in Manchester, Amherst and Nashua, there are plenty of community Easter egg hunts to keep the kids active and entertained all Spring Break long!
On Saturday, April 15th, come out early to the NH Sportsplex for the Our Promise to Nicholas 9th Annual Easter Egg Hunt Festival. There will be over 10,000 plastic eggs filled with candy and prizes, ready for your children to gather. Each family will have a specified time to enter the event, allowing for easier picture-taking and safety.
After the hunt, enjoy:
- Live entertainment
- A magic show
- The Easter Bunny
- Joey the Kangaroo from Launch Trampoline
- Bouncy houses
- Silent auctions
- Bake sales
- …and more!
All of the proceeds from this fun family event go toward Batten Disease research, an incurable brain disease that usually results in death between ages 8 and 12. The Our Promise to Nicholas Foundation was established in 2009 in honor of Nicholas Dainiak, who lost his battle with Batten Disease in 2014.
The Dainiak family is passionate about raising awareness of the disease while sharing Nicholas’s joyful and caring spirit with the people of Manchester. Bring your kids out to NH Sportsplex for a wonderful morning of springtime family fun.
SEE Science Center
The SEE Science Center is a great place to take your kids over Spring Break to ensure that their minds stay active. Established in 1986, the SEE is an interactive learning museum promoting the understanding and enjoyment of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Visitors of all ages enjoy:

Each weekend in April, come to the museum for a different special event. There’s always so much to see at the SEE, so come out with the whole family for a day of hands-on learning that feels more like fun.
